Period. collects no data. What you enter stays on your phone, encrypted. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app never connects to the internet.

What is stored, and where

Your entries, profile answers and settings are kept in a database on your phone, encrypted with AES-256. Its key is kept in the iPhone's Keychain and never leaves the device. Nobody else, including the maker of Period., can read it.

What leaves the phone, only when you do it

A backup you save is encrypted with your password and goes where you choose, for example iCloud Drive, where Apple's terms apply. A report you share, and feedback you send from Mail, go to whoever you send them to. A file you import from another app is read on your phone and not sent anywhere.

Face ID, reminders and the widget

Face ID is handled by iOS; Period. only learns whether it succeeded. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and their text says nothing about your cycle unless you write it yourself. The home-screen widget shows only what you choose under Settings, and nothing while the app lock is on.

Deleting your data

Settings → Delete all data removes everything from your phone for good, as does deleting the app. Backups you saved elsewhere stay where you put them until you delete them.
